Water Running
![]() Water Running is a low/no-impact cardio, strength AND flexibility workout in one! It’s a fun and unique form of exercise, performing movements such as walking and running, as well as other functional based movements, in water.
Wearing a floatation device (water running belt) assists the Water Runner to keep their head above water, as well as assisting in maintaining an upright posture, so that correct techniques can be applied. Water Running is one of the few forms of isokinetic training, meaning that your muscles contact and shorten at a constant rate of speed. This is one of the fastest ways to build muscle strength. One of the great things about Water Running, is that YOU control the intensity of the workout, because the harder you push, the greater the resistance from the water. This way you can train efficiently with faster results. Water Running is suitable for anyone of any age who can swim, as long as they have an adequate level of health and fitness that does not restrict their ability to be in water, or people who have a medical condition that may include severe heart or blood pressure problems e.g. hypertension.
People who would like to improve sports performance, decrease body fat, increase muscle tone, and improve fitness would greatly benefit from regular Water Running sessions. Water Running is particularly helpful for people who are recovering from illness, rehabilitating injury or who are overweight, as it reduces the stress placed upon the musculo-skeletal system. At the same time, this no-impact form of exercise can assist in increasing strength, fitness and mobility. BookingsInterested? Call Michelle now on 0412 148 718
